Most river cruises are tailored for group bookings.  Cruises normally run for around three and a half hours taking in either the River Stour or the River Orwell after a short circuit of the Stour and Orwell estuary, Harwich Haven.   Currently the maximum group size is 12 persons.  For those not wishing to hire the whole boat, there will also be certain dates when the cruise is open to the public.

Food is usually supplied as part of the package in the form of a sit-down meal or a buffet type arrangement.    A licensed bar is available.   The Brightlingsea can also anchor mid-cruise for meals, allowing passengers to experience the tranquillity of the water.

The River Stour is more restrictive than the Orwell and attention must be paid to tides when booking trips as far as Manningtree. Both offer superb bird watching opportunities for the keen eyed, particularly at low tide, when the feeding is good on the mud flats.
